Bali Pass Trek

The most challenging trek in the Indian Himalayas is the 66 km trek through the Bali Pass from Taluk to Jankichatti. Passing through the Harki Dun Valley and Govinda National Park, the trek highlights the diversity of flora and fauna including snow leopards and tigers. Villages like Osla and Kyarköty Glacier add culture and scenery. The route requires careful planning, starting right from Har Ki Dun to make the best of it. Accessible from Dehradun, Sankari is a campground. The trek ends at Jankichatti after visiting Yamunotri and Saptarshi Kund. The best time is before and after the rains, May and June showcase tropical landscapes, and September and October bring autumn beauty. Difficulty of the trek There is a significant elevation gain, long days of trekking and technical trails, which put it as a relatively challenging trek.
